Santa Cristina alla Fondazza, Bologna : ウィキペディア英語版 | Santa Cristina alla Fondazza, Bologna Santa Cristina alla Fondazza is a deconsecrated Roman Catholic church and adjacent former convent,located on Piazzeta Morandi in central Bologna, Italy. The church now serves as a music hall for classical music, while the convent houses the Department of Visual Arts of the University of Bologna. ==History== A church at the site was putatively established at the site in 1247 by Camaldolese monks. The church we see now was designed in 1602 by Giulio della Torre, a pupil of Domenico Tibaldi. By the Napoleonic era, the church was used for a time as barracks. The church has two sculptures of ''St Peter and Paul'' by Guido Reni. The main altarpiece is an ''Ascension'' by Ludovico Carracci.〔(Genus Bononiae ), short entry on church.〕 Other sculptures in the church were completed by Giuseppe Maria Mazza and G. Fiorini and paintings by Giacomo Francia and Francesco Salviati. It was said at one time to hold paintings by Lucio Massari, Bartolomeo Passerotti and his son Tiburzio, Domenico Maria Canuti, Giovanni Battista Bertusio, Mastelletta, and Bernardino Baldi,〔(Le chiese parrocchiali della diocesi di Bologna, ritratte e descritte ), by Bologna diocese (1849).〕 The adjacent Camaldolese monastery is now the Department of Visual Arts of the University of Bologna.
